Different types of semi-trailers are designed to haul different cargoes:

1. Flatbeds consist of just a load floor and removable side rails and a bulkhead in front to protect the tractor in the event of a load shift. They can haul almost anything that can be stacked on and strapped down.
2. Lowboy (Low-loader) trailers are a type of flatbed in which the load floor is as close to the ground as possible, most commonly used to haul heavy equipment, cranes, bulldozers, etc.
3. Cargo semi trailer(sidewall and fence structure design) use to load a wide range of products and materials, like sand, bags, poultry etc. Also the some bulk cargo, very widely used in the transportation industry. It can be added with container lock to transport the container.
4. Dump trailers (Tippers) are trailers in which one end can be raised to allow the cargo (often building materials or Agricultural produce) to slide out the other end. Commonly, they are hinged at the rear and raised at the front, but side-unloading dump trailers also are used.
5. Sidelifter semi-trailers have hydraulic cranes mounted at both ends of the chassis allowing for the loading and unloading of shipping containers without the need of a forklift or other container-handling equipment. Also known as a Sideloader.
6. Liquid tanker semi trailer used for carrying different liquid like fuel, petrol, water, palm oil, bitumen, asphalt etc.
7. Dry bulk (Powder tankers) trailers resemble big tankers, but are used for cement, sand, barite, flour, and other dry powder materials.
8. Intermodal trailers are similar in frame design to box trailers, but without any sort of integral cargo-carrying ability as they are designed to carry a variety of standard Intermodal containers.

Maintenance of semi-trailer

Tire inspection
The tire pressure should be checked at room temperature every month. If it is lower than the normal standard, the tire pressure should be refilled in time. The air pressure cannot be too high or too low, otherwise it will affect the safety of driving. Check the tires for cracks, and replace the tires in time when there are potential safety hazards. When choosing tires, make them the same model.
Maintenance and inspection of batteries
Check whether the battery is firmly fixed, the electrolyte should be between the upper limit and the lower limit. When it is close to the offline, add electrolyte or distilled water to the high line in time. Keep the positive and negative cables of the battery in good contact, and keep the battery clean and dry. For vehicles that have been stored for a long time, remove the positive and negative cables of the battery, and re-wire the battery after a period of about half a month. After starting the engine for about 20 minutes, charge it in time if the battery is obviously insufficient.
Check the liquid level of the clutch master cylinder
If the clutch fluid level is between the high and low fluid levels, it means it is normal. If it is below the standard line, the master cylinder or the sub-cylinder cup may be damaged. When the engine is running, it will be difficult or impossible to shift gears. Please go to the nearest maintenance station for inspection and repair immediately.
Check the brake fluid level
If the brake is also between the high and low positions, it means normal. If the brake fluid is close to the lower limit or lower than the lower limit, it indicates that there may be a leak in the system or the brake shoes are worn too much, and you should go to the repair station for maintenance in time. When refilling brake fluid, pay attention to adding the same type of brake fluid to prevent damage to the cup, and pay attention to protect the paint to prevent corrosion.
Engine coolant level inspection
Never open the radiator cover when the engine is in a warm state, otherwise you may be scalded by the spilled coolant or high-temperature steam. After the engine is cooled, check that the liquid level of the coolant should be between the full level and the low level. Otherwise, distilled water or pure water or refrigerant should be added. The height of the liquid level after adding water should not exceed the full level. If it is found that the cooling fluid decreases rapidly in a short period of time, check the cooling system for leaks or go to the maintenance station for inspection.
